HLM Takaful the ONLY takaful operator to offer travel takaful protection to MATTA delegates

Kuala Lumpur, 8 May 2012 - The Malaysian Association of Tour and Travel Agents (MATTA) has im­­posed mandatory travel insurance on all its members since March 1. Six insurance service providers, namely Ace Jerneh Insurance Berhad, Chartis Ma­­laysia Insurance Bhd, Hong Leong MSIG Takaful Bhd, Kurnia Insurance (M) Insurance Bhd, Lonpac Insurance (M) Bhd and RHB Insurance Bhd, have been appointed for this purpose.

Hong Leong MSIG Takaful Berhad (HLM Takaful) is the only appointed takaful operator to provide travel takaful (travel insurance) for MATTA delegates.

Ybhg Dato' Mohd Khalid Harun, the President of MATTA stressed the importance of having an outbound travel insurance coverage when travelling overseas as "there have been many cases of travel agencies becoming insolvent. In addition, when you personally hear cases of consumer's hard earn money being absconded it is very heart wrenching. And that is why MATTA is ensuring that travel insurance is made mandatory to safeguard the consumer's wellbeing".

He further added, "As of 1st March 2012, Travel Insurance will be made mandatory for all Outbound Tour Packages sold by MATTA Members. So my advice would be if you want to travel overseas with the added knowledge that your interest will be looked after as per the benefits spelled out in the travel insurance scheme, then BUY your Outbound Tour Packages from Travel Agents who are MATTA Members"

HLM Takaful is participating as a sponsor during the event.
