Kuala Lumpur, 23 November 2010 - Hong Leong Tokio Marine Takaful Berhad (HLTMT) today announced the launch of its "HLTMT i-Ihsan", a family takaful scheme that combines the elements of protection and savings into one. It is an innovative takaful product that has been designed to be the FIRST term product to offers customers the flexibility/ weightage in choosing the amount of sum covered or protection and savings (cash value) based on their financial needs and goals.

HLTMT i-Ihsan is derived from a "low contribution, high protection" concept based on a Sum Covered Multiplier Factor. For example, with a contribution amount from as low as RM75.00 per month, our customers may choose to either have a low sum covered/ protection of about RM 10,000 which will result in higher cash value or a high sum covered/ protection of about RM200,000 of lower cash value. This would mean that although contribution is low, customers may enjoy high protection without having to pay dearly.

"With the Sum Covered Multiplier Factor this product is suitable not only for the lower segment but our focal attention would be on entrepreneurs and businessmen who are in a quest of preserving and protecting their business. HLTMT i-Ihsan would be most appropriate to include in every entrepreneur's business plans as the product offers protection in case of an untimely death or disability of the shareholder, business owner or top executive," said Encik Ab Latiff Abu Bakar, Chief Executive Officer of Hong Leong Tokio Marine Takaful.

Another added advantage of this product, participants may attach our Badal Haji service (upah haji) which offers all HLTMT's Muslim customers whereby in the event of death or total permanent disability of the participant, a portion from the benefit payable to the participant or the beneficiaries shall be deducted in performing Badal Haji service on behalf of the participant. The service which was launched about a year ago is managed by TH Travel & Services Sdn. Bhd., a wholly owned subsidiary of Lembaga Tabung Haji Berhad and has been designed exclusively to assist Muslims fulfil part of their Five Pillars of Islam.

Hence, on that note the FIRST Badal Haji (upah haji) service which was attached with HLTMT's i-Save have been successfully executed during this year's Hajj Pilgrimage for one of its participants, Allahyarham Shaikh Muhamad Faris Bin Shaikh Fadzil. Allahyarham's father, Shaikh Fadzil bin Ismail officially received the Badal Haji certificate and balance of the takaful benefit from HLTMT.
